I totally forgot about this outfit, the pics most have gotten hidden in my computer and I forgot to ever share it! I am so happy that the dress is still available (in all sizes & also in pink) because it is a great little black dress. It is sleek & sexy and perfect for cocktail parties. I paired it with light blue Valentino pumps, a blue Very Allegra necklace, & a special Italian wrap I found during our honeymoon last year.
About this Italian wrap…
One of our stops during our honeymoon through Italy last summer was Capri. We stayed 3 nights at the JK Place and it was definitely one of our favorites throughout our trip. The staff at the hotel suggested we wait until after 6pm to wander around the town because Capri is a big day trip destination. After a long day in the sun we headed into the town to wander in and out of the little shops. We came across this funky little shop and hesitated whether to go in or head back to the hotel for dinner. I was soo happy we decided to check it out because it was one of the coolest little stores…
Upon walking in, we were mistaken for Italians..we were THAT tan. The owner soon caught on and started speaking to us in english and explained the story of the unique store. He had studied in New York but returned to his Capri roots (7 generations!) to honor his grandmother’s work and open Eco. You can read more about it here. He had taken her designs and drawings and had them printed on scarves, dresses, bags, paintings, etc. I wanted to get a piece of this special story and decided upon this blue scarf. The design is his grandmother’s sketch of the town square in Capri and every time I wear it I am reminded of our amazing time in Italy. If you are heading to Italy soon, I highly suggest heading to Capri!
