Baby Carrier Comparison

There are SO many different baby carriers on the market that it can be a little overwhelming when picking which to buy or add to your baby registry. Therefore, I wanted to share a little review of the 3 I currently have/use.

Baby Bjorn Mini Mesh Carrier (pictured above)

I originally borrowed the Baby Bjorn Mini Mesh Carrier from a friend before we went to the Bahamas because I couldn’t get it in time and had heard it was great for hot weather. I immediately ordered one of our own because I loved how easy it is to put on and take off and how much cooler it seemed to keep baby girl. The mesh is breathable and lightweight and also dries quickly. It is machine washable or I even just hose it down and put in the sun to dry. I think the only con is that this mini carrier only lasts for the first year (or until 24 lbs). However, you can wear the baby forward facing around 5 months, which I think Delfina will love. All in all, if you are looking for an easy lightweight baby carrier this one is great, especially for $99 and if you live in warmer climate.

The Solly Baby Wrap (pictured above)

The Solly Baby Wrap is definitely comfortable. If you aren’t familiar with it, it is just a long piece of fabric and you have to tie it yourself. I suggest practicing in the mirror with a stuffed animal like 10 times before attempting with baby. Delfina loved this wrap when she was a few weeks old because she was extra fussy and wouldn’t want me to put her down. As much as I lovedddd the snuggles, I really wanted to be able to do things with two hands (lol). The Solly Wrap is similar to the Baby Bjorn in that it can only be used up until 25 lbs. I also really like how compact it is. It folds into a little pocket, which is great for throwing in your diaper bag to have with you at all times. One of the things I don’t love is that it’s not as supportive for my back. Since it is just fabric, I find myself more hunched over around baby where some of the other carriers encourage you to keep your shoulders back and your posture a little more upright. But to be honest, as a mom I think your back is going to hurt with or without any carrier…

The Artipoppe Carrier (pictured above)

The Artipoppe carrier is definitely the chicest on the market…I received this carrier as a gift and I love how beautiful it is. The fabric is soft and comfortable for both myself and baby and it is easy to put on and take off. I wore this carrier while traveling to California and Delfina loved sleeping in it. I think a big downfall for this carrier is the price. However, it can be used until baby is 2 years old (or 44 lbs). So I think your cost per wear is definitely better. I also don’t like wearing it on walks because I think it starts to get hot for Delfina, which is why I ordered the Baby Bjorn mesh carrier above. All in all though, I really love this one and will definitely be using it until she grows out of it.

Other carriers I am interested in trying…

I have heard great things about the Boppy ComfyFit Hybrid Carrier as well as the Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh Carrier. I will update this post if I try any others!
