Fiesta Themed Bridal Shower for My Cousin

Balloon Banner: Paper Confetti

Hi friends!

A few weeks ago, one of my cousins and I hosted a fiesta themed bridal shower for one of our other cousins. Since I got so many messages on Instagram about the decor and details, I am sharing all the info in today’s post!

Beginning the Planning Process & Picking a Theme

Every time I am involved in planning a party, I always start by making a secret/private Pinterest board (the board is no longer private). It’s secret because I don’t want to give anything away in case any attendees follow me. If I am a co-host, I invite my other host(s) to join the secret board and the pinning fun begins.

I have always loved Pinterest, I find so many ideas from food & fitness to wedding/party planning & DIY crafts. For parties, Pinterest allows me to create a virtual inspiration board and helps me get my party vision.

My co-host cousin and I decided a fiesta theme would be fun and different from other bridal showers we’ve attended. We wanted to keep it chic & elegant yet fun & fiesta-y.

Decor

A large concern was that “fiesta” can be taken too far and be more cheesy than classy. However, I think we had just the right amount of pops of color and fun while keeping it bridal.

For the tables, we choose white table clothes with a mix of bright napkins, confetti, & bright florals from Flower & Fringe. The mini piñata party favors doubled as decor on the tables and were filled with a pair of bright Very Allegra tassel earrings (see below).

The Food

Sticking with the theme, we figured tacos would be perfect. We also thought it was a fun change from most bridal shower lunches. We hired Sandy James Catering and they set up a tasty DIY taco bar! They also made yummy skinny strawberry margaritas to sip.

The Cake

We knew we wanted to use Edda’s Cake Designs from Miami. She has made countless beautiful (& delicious) cakes for my cousin/aunt. We turned to Pinterest again to look for some fiesta cake ideas. We picked this one as the inspiration & the result was spot on!
