Coral & the Key to Life

Hey there!

This week’s necklace is one of my all time favorites.  Just a heads up, you might hear me say that a lot, each piece I make has a certain uniqueness that makes me happy and excited about making jewelry.  I enjoy designing pieces that are different from the jewelry shoppers tend to see everyday. This necklace is red coral with 14kt gold filled wire and a detachable vintage gold key brooch. The necklace can be worn doubled (as seen in the picture) or long. I think doubled adds an even extra special punch because of its size and “in your face” statement. I’ve always had my eye on red because it is on of my mom’s favorite colors, I also believe it is such a beautiful, passionate color that can hold many meanings. The key was found at a vintage store in Palm Beach.

The outfit below is sophisticated and girly with a bit of an edge due to the Jimmy Choo stilettos. I like the coral and gold necklace with this outfit because it adds a bit of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. It can also be worn with or without the cardigan. I would also consider wearing this with a pair of red heels or even a cute pair of ballet slippers if I was in the mood for flats. I am also a huge fan of red nail polish, I think it is so classic and will never go out of style. The tarte lip stain gives you the perfect amount of color without going over board.
