Hi friends!

How killer is this gown?! I mean it is amazing, Way It Should Be designer, Hassan Pierre, knows how to make a dress! If you haven’t seen the first post about Way It Should Be, check it out < here >

I had the honor of interviewing Hassan last week and I am excited to share it below…

>

Very Allegra: Did you grow up always wanting to design clothes? Hassan Pierre: Yes, for as long as I can remember I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer. As a child I would always watch my mother get dressed and help her pick out what shoes and jewelry she would wear with her outfit. Fashion was always a passion for me.

VA: What was your inspiration for starting Way it Should Be? HP: I wanted to create a line that was special. With so many clothing lines coming out everyday I wanted to focus on demi-couture collections where no one client would have the same piece. I find it so bizarre that any women with style would want a dress that a 1000 other women can own.

VA: Where do you go if you are looking for some creative inspiration? HP: Museums, movies & nature. Art is a huge influence for me; weather it be a sculpture or painting that captures my attention, or the chic women walking about admiring art, museums are a go to for me when searching for inspiration. I also love to watch old movies because fashion in the past was so fearless and you can tell people never thought too much about it which is why it was so fantastic to begin with. Lastly, nature plays a huge part in inspiring my collections. The colors, sounds and the natural beauty that surrounds me in those settings are truly moving.

VA: What’s your favorite cocktail? HP: I’m a big fan of tequila and for summer I’ve become obsessed with this drink I had at The St. Regis & I’ve been replicating it at home and any bar I go to. It consists of muddled cucumber, silver tequila & basil. Super refreshing & a bit dangerous being that it’s so yummy.

VA: Would you rather dress up or down? HP: Dress up always ! They only time I prefer to dress down is when I’m going to bed.

VA: What would the theme song of your life be? HP: ‘Don’t  You Worry ‘Bout a Thing’ by Stevie Wonder

VA: If there was one designer you could have dinner with who would it be? HP: Yves Saint Laurent hands down on of the most influential men in fashion of all time.

VA: What’s your fav restaurant? And your fav dish there? HP: Al Moro in Rome. The carbonara Al Moro is beyond amazing !

VA: What’s your go-to outfit? HP: All white or all black.

VA: What do you never leave home without? HP: My confidence and my iPhone naturally.
