Capri: Italy Trip Part III

Hi friends!

We finally just got wifi yesterday, so thank you for your patience with my posts!

Let’s chat about the next stop of our Italian vacay – Capri. Capri is near and dear to my heart. We went for the first time during our honeymoon in 2016, then last year for a friend’s buddymoon*, and this year for a friend’s wedding.

*My friend got married in Florence and after the wedding 10 couples went to Capri for 5 days for a “buddymoon.”

Check out my Lake Como guide here & my Castiglion del Bosco guide here.

How to get there:

We took a car from Castiglion del Bosco using Ciao Adiamamo car service again. In the past, we have always taken the ferry from Naples or Amalfi but this year we booked a private boat transfer with Capri Boats. Once we arrived at the port in Capri, the hotel had someone waiting to pick us up.

Where to Stay:

Our absolute favorite hotel (not just in Capri) is the J.K. Place Capri. We stayed there during our honeymoon and friend’s buddymoon. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with only about 20 rooms.

This summer we were visiting Capri for a wedding in Anacapri, so we decided to stay a little closer to the venue. Therefore, we stayed at the Caesar Augustus. The hotel has breathtakingly beautiful views and if you are ever in Capri, you must have a sunset cocktail on their terrace.

We found the rooms to be a little outdated and small for the price per room, but we weren’t in the room for very long so we were okay with it.

Other option: The Tiberio Palace – We have never stayed there but friends have. It has a great in town location and is associated with the J.K. Place.

What to do:

Day 1:

After arriving Wednesday afternoon and getting settled at the hotel, we got ready for the wedding’s welcome party. We walked from the hotel to Capri Palace for the cocktail party from 6-8. After, we grabbed an open air taxi to town and had dinner at one of our favorite spots, Aurora Pizza.

Things to order: Our favorites include the Margarita Pizza, Truffle Pizza, Truffle Cacio e Pepe Pasta, Caviar Pasta.

That night we got a drink with friends at Taverna Anema e Core, Capri’s nightclub.

Day 2:

The next morning we woke up early, ate breakfast at the hotel and hopped on a boat in the marina for a boat day around the island. First, we stopped at the Blue Grotto, jumped into a tiny row boat & went in. To be honest, it was our first time and we thought it was cool to stop while on the boat and check it out. But other people go, wait in line for 2 hours and make it a destination and I just don’t think it’s worth that.

After the Blue Gratto, we kept going around the Island and stopped for a swim in front the La Fontelina Ristorante & Beach Club. After our swim we went in for the 1pm lunch seating at La Fontelina (we had a reservation prior).

La Fontelina is another favorite spot of ours. It is iconic Italy, great people watching, & delicious food. Check out Gray Malin’s La Fontelina pictures here

Things to order: Arugula & Shrimp Salad, Uni Appetizer, Langoustines, Uni Pasta, Pomodoro Pasta, Linguini alla Vongale & Affogato for dessert.

After lunch we jumped in the sea again & then headed back to hotel to get ready for the wedding. The wedding was at Lido De Faro Beach Club at 5pm. It was was the most beautiful sunset and such a fun (& late) night.

Day 3:

We slept in a little and then stopped by the wedding brunch party at Il Riccio Beach Club in Anacapri. From there we jumped in a water taxi to La Fontelina again. We had a reservation for the 3pm seating that day, so we got beach chairs, swam, and relaxed until our lunch.

After, we headed into town for a little shopping at one of my favorite local stores, Eco Capri. Then back to hotel to get ready for dinner at J.K. Place.

Day 4:

After breakfast we took another private boat transfer to Naples and then drove to Hotel Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole.
